Dan Wojcik and Alex Elieff began their real estate journey in January 2019, but their story didn’t start there.
They met in 2010 while working at Rogers, and in 2014 they both moved into sales roles for Barrie’s largest home builder. It was here they learned the housing industry from the inside out. They became involved in the entire home building process, from purchasing and answering design-related questions, to pre-delivery inspections and more. The pre-construction sales process often spanned years, from the initial introduction in the sales office, right up to moving day for the new homeowners. Throughout the years, the lengthy process made it possible for them to serve and foster relationships with over one thousand clients, helping them hone their people skills.
Over years of working together, Dan and Alex got to know each other well and built a solid friendship beyond the workplace. Always keeping each other’s best interests in mind, their mutual support helped pave the path for the next chapter of their lives.
Together in early 2019, Dan and Alex joined the Century 21 B.J. Roth Realty Ltd. team in Barrie. This felt like a natural shift from pre-sale construction, and their first year’s numbers were a reflection of their early success. That year they quickly rose to the top team within the organization—but to what do they attribute their fast-tracked success?
“Long days and late nights, working hard, and our extensive knowledge of the housing market. Creating genuine relationships with people is also key, and something that comes naturally to Dan and I as we really enjoy the people aspect of this business,” says Alex.
In their first year as licensed realtors, Dan and Alex earned a Centurion Award—a sought-after distinction presented to the top Century 21 producers. They were also recipients of the 30 Under 30 Award, presented to the top 30 agents across Century 21 Canada under the age of 30. By March 2020, in only their second year of real estate, they had already reached Centurion Status and this ambitious pair show no signs of slowing down!
Dan and Alex also attribute a lot of their success to Century 21 B.J. Roth for equipping them with training, and a dynamic team that helped empower them to succeed. Supported by a first-class marketing team, and with encouragement from management, they were happy to have chosen this team—one that now feels more like family.
What advice do Dan and Alex have for realtors who are starting out?
“Hard work and perseverance,” says Dan. “You get what you put in.” They both agree that if you love what you do, it hardly feels like work. “Enrich yourself in the industry,” he continues, “learn as much as you can about the housing market, and don’t be afraid of hard work.”
They also encourage everyone to adapt to the traditional and modern ways of selling real estate. Just because it’s always been done a certain way, doesn’t mean it’ll always work. Look for ways to set yourself apart, and invest in your own growth and learning.
In their second year of business, despite COVID-19, the Dan and Alex Real Estate Team persevered and found much success, earning themselves a Double Centurion Award. They continued to adapt their business to the new way of “digital selling” and were able to outpace year one. They look forward to their third year of serving the community of Barrie, and beyond.
